The national team of Sierra Leone, the Leone Stars, are set to participate in the upcoming FIFA Series 2026 international friendlies scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The West African side will kick off their campaign with a fixture against Oman on March 27, 2026, at the Dalga Arena. The match presents an important opportunity for the Leone Stars to test their strength, build team chemistry, and fine-tune tactics ahead of future competitive engagements.

The FIFA Series format introduces a second match for each participating nation. Sierra Leone’s next opponent will be determined by the outcome of the opening game. A victory over Oman will see them face the winner between Azerbaijan and Saint Lucia on March 30, 2026, while a defeat will place them against the losing side.

The series provides a valuable platform for the Leone Stars to compete against teams from different regions, offering exposure to varied playing styles and boosting international experience for both established players and emerging talents.

Football stakeholders and supporters will be closely monitoring the team’s performance as Sierra Leone continues its efforts to strengthen its standing in international football. The friendlies are expected to play a key role in the team’s preparation for upcoming continental and global competitions.

With national pride at stake, the Leone Stars will be aiming to deliver strong performances and positive results as they represent Sierra Leone on the international stage.
