In a decisive move to restore order, the Regional Operations Team acting on directives from Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brima Kanneh carried out an intensified enforcement operation across Freetown-East on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The exercise was led by Superintendent John S. Koroma.

The operation targeted some of the busiest junctions, including Up Gun, Ferry Junction, Shell New Road, and Jui Junction. Police focused on removing illegal occupiers from road reserves and right-of-way spaces, particularly traders, kekeh drivers, and commercial bike riders, whose activities have long obstructed traffic and posed risks to public safety.

During the sweep, officers reassured residents that the Sierra Leone Police remains committed to enforcing discipline and upholding the law. Superintendent Koroma stressed that the exercise was not only about clearing obstructions but also about safeguarding communities and ensuring smooth traffic flow.

Authorities further disclosed that similar enforcement operations will soon extend to other parts of Freetown-East. According to AIG Kanneh, these actions form part of a broader initiative to enhance safety, discipline, and public order across the region.
