Old Edwardians FC Retire Kaccu’s Famous No.15 Jersey, Open Book of Condolence

The Executive of Old Edwardians Football Club has officially opened a book of condolence in honour of their late player, Abrahamson Kamara, popularly known as “Kaccu,” while also announcing the retirement of his famous No.15 jersey.
The solemn ceremony took place yesterday at the school compound and attracted teammates, coaches, members of the Old Edwardians FC Executive, representatives from the Sierra Leone Premier League, the Premier League Board, family members, supporters, and mourners who gathered to pay tribute to the late footballer.
Speaking during the ceremony, Commissioner Richard Hindolo Senesi, Chairman of Old Edwardians FC, described Kaccu’s passing as a painful loss the club never expected. He revealed that the club’s management and executive had done everything possible to ensure the player returned to the pitch before his unfortunate passing.
Chairman Senesi praised Abrahamson Kamara for his loyalty and commitment to the club, stating that the late midfielder devoted his life to Old Edwardians FC and truly “bled blue and white” whenever he wore the club’s colours.
In an emotional announcement, the Chairman declared that Old Edwardians FC has officially retired Kaccu’s iconic No.15 jersey, confirming that no player will ever wear the number again in honour of his legacy and contribution to the club.
He further disclosed that the club will gather all of Kaccu’s jerseys and place them on his casket during his burial ceremony scheduled for Thursday as a final farewell to one of the club’s most dedicated servants.
The ceremony was filled with emotion as tributes continued to pour in from teammates, football officials, supporters, and loved ones, all remembering Abrahamson Kamara as a committed footballer, loyal teammate, and passionate son of Old Edwardians FC.
