Sierra Leone Delegation Impresses at Ghana West African Food Festival

Sierra Leone’s delegation of professional chefs drew significant attention at the Ghana West African Food Festival, showcasing the country’s cuisine to regional and international audiences.

Led by Chef Kainesie, the team presented live cooking demonstrations and tastings, highlighting traditional Sierra Leonean dishes. Their performances attracted large crowds and received positive feedback from both festival-goers and judges.

Chef Fanta, representing Sierra Leone on the judging panel, played a key role in evaluating the competition, adding credibility and visibility to the country’s participation.

Beyond the festival, the delegation extended its activities to educational outreach, visiting schools in Ghana to share culinary techniques, nutrition knowledge, and cultural stories about Sierra Leonean food.

The participation comes as Sierra Leone prepares for the 2026 UNTOURISM Gastronomy Conference scheduled for April, where the country is expected to further promote its culinary heritage and strengthen regional cooperation in gastronomy.
