APC Diaspora Youth Politics: Sheku Foryoh Enters Presidential Race

Political activities within the diaspora structures of the All People’s Congress (APC) have intensified following the announcement by Sheku Foryoh, who has declared his intention to contest for the position of APC Diaspora Young Congress President.
Ambassador Foryoh is no stranger to the party’s diaspora engagement. His involvement dates back several years, including his role in the establishment of the APC Cyprus Chapter in 2022, where he contributed to the chapter’s early administrative and organizational framework.
During the 2023 political season, Foryoh was also active in fundraising efforts in support of Samura Kamara, participating in engagements that communicated key elements of the APC manifesto, with particular emphasis on policies affecting young people.
Within the APC Diaspora Young Congress, Foryoh has held committee leadership responsibilities, notably chairing organizing committees for the first and third editions of the Diaspora Dinner and Fundraising events. These initiatives were aimed at mobilizing resources, strengthening youth participation, and reinforcing the diaspora’s contribution to party activities.
Announcing his bid, Foryoh stated that his vision, if elected, would focus on improving coordination among diaspora youths, expanding their participation in party decision-making, strengthening fundraising mechanisms, and enhancing links between the diaspora and the party’s national leadership in Sierra Leone.
His declaration comes at a time when the APC diaspora is preparing for a series of internal organizational and leadership processes, signaling what observers describe as a renewed phase of youth-driven political engagement within the party’s overseas chapters.
