Babadi Kamara Donates NLe 40,500 for Kono Football Development
Babadi Kamara, Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers Football Club and a frontrunner in the upcoming Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Presidential elections, has made a generous contribution of NLe 40,500 to the Kono District Football Association (KDFA) to support local football initiatives.
This donation marks a significant boost for grassroots football development in Kono, particularly benefiting the district’s ongoing league activities. KDFA Chairman Abu Bakar Mansaray expressed his heartfelt thanks, stating that the funds would aid in organizing the league and fostering young talent in the area.
“This gesture from Babadi Kamara underscores his commitment to football development in Sierra Leone,” said Mansaray. “His support is vital as we work to revitalize the league and nurture aspiring players.”
Under Mansaray’s leadership, KDFA has successfully organized various competitions, including under-12, under-14, and under-15 tournaments, chiefdom-level competitions, and female football initiatives. The ongoing district league, featuring 21 clubs, is generating excitement, with Golden Soccer Academy and Soccer King set to clash in the final on October 20, 2024.
Komba Kelvin Kembay, KDFA Secretary General, also expressed gratitude for Kamara’s consistent support, emphasizing that his financial assistance is timely and crucial for enhancing the league’s success.
