Government Releases 2024 NPSE Results

On August 14, 2024, Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) announced the 2024 National Primary School Examination results. MBSSE Minister Conrad Sackey made the announcement on Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

This year, 164,971 students participated in the exam, marking an increase of 1,111 from the previous year, with 4,963 schools involved—173 more than in 2023. Despite the higher participation, 4,557 students were absent for all subjects, prompting the ministry to investigate the unusually high absenteeism rate.

Haja Namasa Conteh of International School Limited in Freetown achieved the top score of 344. The MBSSE is expected to provide more details about the results soon.
