Ibrahim Sona Conteh fires Star Sport Academy to 1-0 win over Wilberforce Strikers

Ibrahim Sona Conteh’s first-half strike was enough as Star Sport Academy edged Wilberforce Strikers 1-0 on Sunday 14th June, claiming a hard-fought three points at the SLFA Academy Field in Kingtom.
The decisive moment arrived in the 32nd minute Larry Siemon delivered a precise pass, and Ibrahim Sona Conteh reacted quickest to meet it with a well-taken finish that beat the Wilberforce Strikers’ goalkeeper Francis Koroma. The goal proved to be the difference in a tight contest.
Wilberforce Strikers pushed for an equalizer after the break but found Star Sport Academy’s defense organized and disciplined. Frustration crept in for the visitors. Mohamed Tarawally was booked in the 47th minute, followed by Mohamed Kargbo in the 58th. Their afternoon worsened in the 67th minute when Assistant Coach Abdul Karim Bah was sent off for dissent.
Star Sport Academy’s Alpha Bedor Conteh also entered the referee’s book in the 34th minute, but the academy side kept their composure. They absorbed pressure, defended with determination, and saw out the game to preserve the slender lead.
At the final whistle, Ibrahim Sona Conteh’s 32nd-minute finish stood as the match winner, securing maximum points for Star Sport Academy against a stubborn Wilberforce Strikers side.
Star Sport Academy defender Mohamed Sillah was named Man of the Match for his commanding performance at the back, leading the defense and neutralizing the Wilberforce Strikers’ attack.
