Jagaban Donates NLe 10 Billion for Development Projects in Kambia District

APC flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has donated NLe 10 billion to support development initiatives in Kambia District. The donation was formally presented on 28 November 2025 during a ceremony held at the Kambia 1 Resource Center.
Addressing attendees, Kambia District Council Chairman Mohamed Manasarico Mansaray said the district had long awaited Jagaban’s visit. He outlined key challenges facing the district including unreliable electricity supply, limited access to clean water, and other basic necessities adding that the donation would help tackle some of these constraints. Mansaray stressed that stakeholders and youth groups would collaborate to ensure the funds are used for the public good.
He noted further that the visit demonstrated Jagaban’s commitment to the people of Kambia and urged citizens to embrace peace, unity, and development.
Also speaking at the event, Former Ambassador to Belgium Ibrahim Sorie Kamara described the gesture as a sign of the APC’s renewed focus on development. He assured residents that the funds would be managed with accountability and transparency, emphasizing that party unity is crucial ahead of the 2028 national elections. He reminded attendees that Sierra Leone’s progress depends on peace, regardless of political affiliation.
Delivering the keynote address, Jagaban expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and underscored the importance of inclusivity, particularly for persons with disabilities. He said leadership should be driven by competence, not sentiment.
Revealing that this is the largest single donation he has ever made to any district, Jagaban expressed confidence that the funds would help address Kambia’s pressing development challenges. He urged community leaders to ensure the money is used strictly for public benefit, not personal gain. He also pledged to provide solar lights for hospitals, schools, community centers, and other critical areas.
Jagaban reaffirmed that his political ambition is driven by a desire to promote development rather than personal interests. He said Sierra Leoneans have endured hardship for too long and insisted that the APC is positioned to restore hope, create jobs, and improve infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water supply.
He concluded by calling on APC members to maintain unity as the party prepares for the 2028 elections.
