Mighty Blackpool and SLIFA FC played out a gripping 0-0 draw in their latest Leone Rock Premier League fixture, a match defined by missed opportunities and defensive resilience. Despite the lack of goals, the encounter provided high drama and tactical intensity throughout the 90 minutes.
The game’s turning point arrived in the 28th minute when SLIFA FC was awarded a penalty following a period of relentless offensive pressure. Santigie Fornah stepped up to the spot with a chance to break the deadlock, but his effort failed to find the mark, handing the “Tis Tas” Boys a massive reprieve and a shift in momentum.
The physical stakes were evident early on, as the referee reached for his pocket twice in the opening twenty minutes. SLIFA’s Micheal Bangura (#21) saw yellow in the 15th minute, followed closely by Blackpool’s Alimamy J. Kamara (#34) in the 20th.
While both sides pushed for a late winner in a frantic closing spell, neither could find a way past the organized backlines. The evening belonged to Mighty Blackpool’s goalkeeper, Fatmata Kamara, whose commanding presence and crucial interventions earned him the Man of the Match award and secured a vital point for his side.
