Opposition Leader calls on Clerk to “Step Aside”

Leader of the opposition All Peoples Congress in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo has called on the Clerk of Parliament to step aside whiles corruption investigations against him and his wife continue.
“I am shocked at the revelations of abuse of office by the Clerk of Parl. The repayment at ACC indicates an admission of guilt. To preserve the sanctity of parliament and to spare the House further embarrassment, I ask that he steps aside to allow the ACC to conclude its work.”
Paran Umarr Tarawally, and his wife, Mrs. Abibatu Tarawally are facing multiple allegations of corruption from abuse of office to fluting due process in hiring Abibatu as part of the Parliamentary work force.
Abibatu herself has since repaid Le130million to the ACC, according to the anti-graft body.
The ACC further disclosed concerns that Mrs. Abibatu Tarawally received salaries without fulfilling her duties, raising serious questions about potential conflicts of interest and an abuse of position by the Clerk of Parliament.
This issue has come to light in the wake of a massive sacking of staff in Parliament, something which has proven controversial.
