Sandi returns to State House

Yusu Kekehtoma Sandi has returned to State House after what looks like a short loan spell at the Ministry of Information and Civic Education. Sandi who was the Deputy Minister of Information returns to his former position as Press Secretary to the President.

The news was broken this afternoon following an appointment letter from State House. Sandi will be replacing Solomon Jamiru who occupied the office for seven months, until his resignation last week.

In a tweet this afternoon, the lawyer said he is proud of his appointment and will strive to support the President to succeed.

“I am incredibly honored and privileged to accept the reappointment as Press Secretary by His Excellency on@PresidentBio . Under his visionary leadership, Sierra Leone is embarking on a promising journey towards progress and prosperity,” Sandi wrote on X.

He vowed to bring his short experience from the Ministry of Information to use in his new role whiles promising collaboration.

“I eagerly anticipate the continuation of my collaborative efforts with journalists, media organizations, social media bloggers, and my esteemed colleagues at the Presidency.”

Sandi’s departure now opens another vacancy at the Ministry of Information, a ministry that has already seen three turnovers of Deputy Ministers since 2018.
