Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea Commit to Safe Airspace
Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea have reaffirmed their commitment to regional airspace safety and development during a two-day meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Aberdeen. Key stakeholders from the three nations gathered as part of the Robert Flight Information Region (Robert FIR) to review the 2024 Activity Report, discuss the draft 2025 budget, and adopt resolutions from the Technical Committee.
In his opening speech, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Transport, Alhaji Fanday Turay, emphasized the government’s dedication to secure and develop the shared airspace through collaboration. Liberia’s Minister of Transport, Sirleaf Ralph Tyler, noted the progress made and the moving forward of the deferred training school project.
Julius D. Dennis, Director General of Liberia’s Civil Aviation Authority, highlighted the importance of performance improvement and sustainability in air navigation, urging continued support from all member states.
The meeting reinforced the shared goal of ensuring safe skies, improving air traffic management, and advancing sustainable aviation development in the region.
