Sports Minister Applauds Siaka Stevens Stadium Rehab Progress

On November 1, 2024, Sports Minister Augusta James-Teima visited Siaka Stevens Stadium to review ongoing rehabilitation efforts. Joined by Deputy Minister Kai Lawrence Mbayo and Ministry officials, she praised the progress towards meeting FIFA standards, particularly in the installation of plastic seats in open stands. Greeted by stadium management and the Chinese technical team led by Boson, the Minister toured key facilities, including the main bowl, presidential stands, scoreboard, swimming pool, and sports courts.

Boson assured the team that renovations are on track, addressing some delays with seat installation. Minister James-Teima expressed gratitude on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio and acknowledged the work done by the Chinese technical team and stadium staff. She emphasized the importance of teamwork to meet the project deadline and assured continued monitoring with future visits by National Sports Authority and Sierra Leone Football Association representatives.
