UN Launches 2025-2030 Sustainable Development Framework in Sierra Leone

The United Nations, in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone, has officially launched the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2025-2030. The event took place at the Freetown International Conference Centre in Bintumani.
The UNSDCF is designed to set strategic priorities for the UN-Sierra Leone partnership with a focus on accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key areas of emphasis for the framework include poverty reduction, health, education, gender equality, and climate action.
The launch event was attended by a diverse group of stakeholders, including cabinet ministers, government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, local authorities, the private sector, and media representatives. Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh (PhD), representing the President, delivered the keynote address.
The symbolic signing of the framework was conducted by UN Resident Coordinator Madam Seraphine Wakana and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Madam Kenyeh Barlay.
Following the signing ceremony, an exhibition showcased the contributions and impacts of various UN agencies. The UNSDCF concentrated on three main pillars: Food Systems, Natural Resource Management, and Climate Change; Human Capital, Essential Services, and Employment; and Governance and Economic Transformation.
The United Nations expressed its appreciation to the Government of Sierra Leone for its collaborative efforts in shaping this framework, which aligns with the country’s development priorities and goals.
