BREAKING: PPRC Chairman Confirms APC Has Paid Le 350, 000 Fine
By Osman Marah
The Chairman of the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), Emmanuel Koivaya Amara, has confirmed to Epic Radio that the All People’s Congress (APC) has paid the Le 350, 000 fine imposed on the party by the Commission.
Speaking on the matter, Mr. Amara clarified that although the fine has now been settled, the payment does not automatically lift the suspension previously placed on the party. He explained that the Commission is currently completing the required administrative processes and will formally communicate its decision regarding the suspension through an official letter expected to be issued by tomorrow.
“The payment has been made, but there are procedures we must follow before the suspension is officially lifted,” Mr. Amara stated.
The APC was suspended earlier this week after failing to comply with directives issued by the PPRC in connection with statements made by its National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya, and party member Zainab Sheriff during the party’s mammoth meeting held on January 31.
The suspension, which took effect at 8:30 a.m. on February 11, barred the party from conducting official political activities pending compliance with the Commission’s directives.
Further updates are expected once the PPRC releases its official communication.
