Chinese Embassy Funds Nle 350,000 for Bo Footbridge
In its poverty alleviation and social development initiative, the Chinese Embassy in Freetown has disbursed Nle 350,000 for constructing a footbridge in Bo District. This funding is part of the embassy’s commitment to supporting infrastructure projects that enhance local communities.
The Information, Education, and Communication Unit of NaCSA reported that these funds resulted from previous engagements among the NaCSA Commissioner, mayors, and local council chairpersons. NaCSA has been working diligently to ensure the Chinese Embassy actively participates in poverty alleviation and social development projects. The NaCSA Commissioner, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, accompanied Bo City Mayor Musa Kobba to the Chinese Embassy in Freetown for the disbursement ceremony. This footbridge is expected to improve connectivity and accessibility for residents, contributing to the overall development of the Bo municipality.
Additionally, the Chinese Embassy, through NaCSA, has provided travel opportunities to China for four district local council chairpersons and a councillor from Bonthe, Bo, Kenema, and Moyamba. These trips aim to enhance the officials’ understanding of development practices and foster stronger bilateral relations. This initiative is part of a broader effort to build capacity within local councils and promote sustainable development across the region.
