Jagaban Sponsors Kingtom Football Association “Say No to Drugs” Tournament

Prominent All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara popularly known as Jagaban has reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment and community development by sponsoring the 4th Edition of the Kingtom Football Association (KFA) “Say No to Drugs” Inter-Area Trophy Tournament at the K-T Field in Freetown.
The tournament, which kicked off with an opening match between Kroo Bay and New England Ville, is aimed at promoting unity, discipline, and a drug-free lifestyle among Sierra Leone’s youth.
Addressing the crowd at the opening ceremony, Jagaban underscored the importance of sports in fostering national cohesion and keeping young people away from harmful substances. He called on citizens to rally behind the ongoing fight against Kush and other dangerous drugs destroying the lives of many young Sierra Leoneans.
“The goal of this tournament is not just about football,” Jagaban emphasized. “It is about shaping character, promoting discipline, and saying no to drugs that threaten our nation’s future.”
He further urged all Sierra Leoneans to actively participate in the upcoming National Population Census, describing it as both a patriotic responsibility and a critical tool for national planning and development.
“Accurate census data will help government and policymakers make informed decisions that improve lives. Let us all play our part,” he added.
Jagaban expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in the 2028 national elections, saying he remains confident that with divine guidance, the party will once again lead Sierra Leone from State House.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee of the Jagaban Movement, Mr. Costello lauded Jagaban’s “visionary leadership and deep sense of service,” noting his consistent support for young people through sports, education, and community projects.
“Jagaban stands out among APC flagbearer aspirants because of his sincerity, compassion, and unwavering focus on nation-building,” Costello said. “He believes in development through action not just words.”
The “Say No to Drugs” Tournament continues to attract wide attention across Freetown as communities unite behind the campaign for a drug-free Sierra Leone.
