Methodist Boys’ High to Implement Single Shift in September 2024
The Methodist Boys’ High School has received official approval from the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education to implement a single shift system.
Starting in September 2024, this new scheduling arrangement signifies a major transition for the historic institution. It highlights the school’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its educational delivery.
The Ministry’s approval, communicated in a formal letter dated July 17, 2024, recognizes the significant efforts of the school’s Board of Governors and Alumni Association. These stakeholders have been instrumental in restoring the school’s prestigious standing and aligning with the government’s educational goals.
Key to this approval were the school’s recent infrastructural upgrades, which included adding eighteen new classrooms to the existing twenty, making effective use of the available land. These enhancements have been deemed adequate to support the single shift system, accommodating the current student enrollment.
However, the Ministry has set specific conditions for the implementation. The school must ensure that the student enrollment does not exceed 2,700 to prevent strain on classroom resources and maintain educational quality. Additionally, the school must continue operating its two administrative structures to manage affairs effectively.
The Ministry has assured the school of its ongoing support while emphasizing adherence to these conditions. It will closely monitor the school’s compliance to ensure a smooth transition and maintain educational standards.
