NSA Executive Director’s First 100 Days in Office

Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, who marked his first hundred days as NSA Director, has outlined key achievements during this period, building upon the groundwork laid by his predecessor. One significant milestone mentioned by Dr. Saffa is the inspection of the National Stadium, where he confirmed that the stadium itself will be available by 2025. However, other facilities such as the swimming pool and practice fields are expected to be ready by November 2024.
In addition to infrastructure updates, the NSA is actively planning to overhaul the Sports Development Basket Fund to ensure sustainable sports development. This restructuring aims to better allocate resources for long-term growth in sporting initiatives.
Another initiative highlighted by Dr. Saffa is the establishment of a local Court of Arbitration for Sports, designed to handle internal sporting disputes before they escalate to higher bodies such as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This local tribunal is expected to streamline conflict resolution within the
Furthermore, Dr. Saffa clarified that there are currently no funds available in the Sports Development Basket Fund. The 10 Billion Leones previously allocated by the President have already been utilized for activities related to Leone Stars, the national football team.sporting community.
Closing his remarks, the Executive Director emphasized that for any sporting association to receive government support, it must demonstrate a track record of organizing local sporting events. He stressed the importance of ensuring value for money in NSA investments and initiatives.
