Sierra Leone Bar Association PRO Steps Down

Alfred Kamanda has announced his decision to withdraw from the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) election race, citing disappointment over the outcome of the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
In a statement, Kamanda described the manner in which the AGM unfolded as a “huge disappointment,” saying the events had influenced his decision to step away from the contest.
He stated that regardless of whether the election proceeds or not, he is no longer interested in contesting for any position within the Association.
“It is a huge disappointment that the Sierra Leone Bar Association’s Annual General Meeting has turned out this way. Whether we eventually proceed to the polls or not, I am no longer interested in contesting for any position, regardless of the outcome of the election,” Kamanda said.
His announcement comes amid ongoing developments surrounding the SLBA’s AGM and election process, adding another twist to an already closely watched exercise within the legal profession. It remains to be seen how his withdrawal will affect the Association’s electoral process and the remaining candidates.
