SLPP Commends Internal Elections, Pledges Probe into Violence
The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has praised the smooth conduct of its recent internal elections while condemning reports of violence in some areas.
In a press statement on February 9, 2025, the ruling party expressed appreciation for the participation of its members and stakeholders, reaffirming its commitment to democracy and internal unity. The SLPP acknowledged the role of party executives and the Political Parties Registration Commission in overseeing a credible electoral process.
However, the party denounced incidents of violence and misconduct reported in certain regions, vowing to launch investigations into the matter. SLPP leadership extended sympathies to those affected and stressed the importance of justice and internal discipline.
