The National Investment Board (NIB), with support from the World Bank–funded Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP), today hosted a high-level Public-Private Dialogue at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown. The event brought together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, development partners, and the diplomatic community to address persistent challenges in business registration and facilitation.
The forum aims to streamline business processes in Sierra Leone, which remain hampered by bureaucratic inefficiencies and regulatory bottlenecks. Participants discussed practical reforms to improve the ease of doing business and to enhance investor confidence in the country’s economic environment.

“This dialogue is a crucial step towards a more business-friendly Sierra Leone,” said NIB CEO, noting the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector in unlocking economic growth.
Discussions focused on reducing the time and cost of starting a business, improving inter-agency coordination, and adopting digital solutions for registration processes. The World Bank and other development partners emphasized their continued support for reform initiatives under SLEDP, which is designed to foster private sector development and diversification.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that the dialogue would lead to concrete policy actions and improved service delivery for entrepreneurs and investors across the country.
