Republicans hold Blackpool to a draw

Mighty Blackpool and Real Republicans played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, January 13 at the MK3 Arena in Western Rural.
Skipper Mohamed A. Conteh nodded in a cross in the 15th minute of play from midfielder, Bureh G. Koroma from a corner kick.
The old rivalry between the two clubs was evident throughout the match as tackles came flying in from both teams.

The away side, Blackpool dominated much of the first half as Koroma created a couple of chances but Kabba Tucker and Donald Wellington both failed to convert.
The rhythm of the match transformed for the host as incoming player, Osman Bangura used his pace to cause trouble for Blackpool’s defence. This paid off in the 55th minute when winger, Dennis Kamara placed a low shot to the bottom corner following a low cross from Sheka Samura.
This is the Tis-tas boys second draw this season after 11 games in the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League. Mighty Blackpool is recording their poorest form since 2010 back-to-back win after losing five times already this season in just 11 games.
For the host Real Republicans, last season’s relegation scare has resurfaced after sitting 17th, second from bottom in this campaign. Real Republicans have so far registered only 9 points from a possible 33.
