Sierra Leone Launches First Mental Health Champions Network

The Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL), through the Ministry of Health (MoH), has launched the country’s first Mental Health Champions Network to strengthen advocacy and policy reforms on mental health.
The initiative, introduced at the Bank Complex in Freetown, brings together 27 individuals recognized for their contributions to youth development and commitment to improving mental health services. Their primary role is to support the government’s mental health agenda, drive policy change, and raise public awareness.
Health officials say the move marks a critical step in addressing the country’s mental health challenges, ensuring better access to services, and reducing stigma.
