SLFA Terminates Appointment of Mohamed Kallon as Leone Stars Head Coach

The Sierra Leone Football Association has officially announced the termination of the appointment of Leone Stars Head Coach, Mohamed Kallon, with immediate effect.
In a press release issued on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the Association stated that the decision was reached following a resolution adopted by its Executive Committee, in accordance with its statutory and administrative mandate.
According to the SLFA, the move comes after careful deliberation and a thorough assessment of the technical, administrative, and strategic needs of the Sierra Leone national men’s team.
The Executive Committee concluded that a change in leadership was necessary in the best interest of both the Association and the development of football in the country.

The statement further clarified that Mohamed Kallon ceases to act or be recognized in the capacity of Head Coach from the date of the announcement, with all necessary administrative actions set to follow.
Despite the abrupt end to his tenure, the SLFA acknowledged Kallon’s contributions and service during his time in charge of the national team, extending best wishes for his future professional endeavors.
Kallon, a former international football star and one of Sierra Leone’s most celebrated players, took up the role with high expectations from fans and stakeholders.
His departure is likely to spark discussions across the football community regarding the future direction of the Leone Stars and the leadership needed to drive the team forward.
The SLFA is expected to announce interim or permanent technical leadership in the coming days as preparations continue for upcoming competitions.
