Students Expelled from FBC For Fighting
Some students at Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone, have been expelled yesterday from the university following the circulation of a viral video depicting their physical altercation on campus. The university’s Disciplinary Committee, in its review of 14 cases during the 2023/2024 academic year, made the decision to expel some students while others received suspensions ranging from one to two years.
The expulsions were officially announced through a university notice, which not only listed the names of the expelled students but also served as a stern reminder to all students about the rules and regulations governing conduct on campus. The administration strongly advised students to avoid any actions that could lead to disciplinary action, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a peaceful and respectful environment conducive to learning.
This incident has sparked discussions within the university community about the consequences of interpersonal conflicts and the broader implications for student behavior and campus life. The administration is expected to continue monitoring and enforcing discipline to uphold the standards of academic and social conduct at FBC.
