Zainab Sheriff Threatens Legal Action Against APC Over Fine Payment
By: Reginald Brian Ojukutu Sawyerr
Zainab Sheriff has issued strong legal warnings against the All People’s Congress (APC) and the Political Parties Regulations Commission (PPRC) over a fine linked to her name.
Speaking during an online interview on the Epic Morning Show Review Segment, Sheriff stated that she would take legal action against the APC if the party proceeds to pay any fine on her behalf.
“I will sue the APC if they pay my fine,” she declared, stressing that she did not authorise the party to assume responsibility for the matter.
During the interview, Zainab Sheriff also accused the Political Parties Regulations Commission of unfairly bringing her name into the issue. She said she would take action against the Commission, arguing that the decision to associate her with the matter had caused reputational damage.
She maintained that the inclusion of her name by the PPRC was unjustified and had subjected her to unnecessary public scrutiny.
Her comments have since sparked debate on issues of accountability, individual responsibility, and the role of regulatory bodies in political affairs.
As at the time of this report, neither the APC nor the Political Parties Regulations Commission has issued an official response to the statements.
