Haja Namasa Conteh: 2024 NPSE Top Scorer
Haja Namasa Conteh, a young and exceptionally talented student, achieved a remarkable score of 344 in the 2024 National Primary School Examination (NPSE), earning her the title of top pupil as announced by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) from the International School Limited. The news was broadcast nationwide on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation by MBSSE Minister Conrad Sackey.
Minister Sackey highlighted that Haja’s score of 344 surpasses the highest score from the previous year. This year, 164,971 pupils took the exam, an increase of 1,111 from 2023. The number of participating schools also rose to 4,963, up by 173 from last year.
Despite the increased participation, a concerning number of 4,557 pupils were absent for all subjects. The ministry plans to investigate the reasons behind this record-high absenteeism rate.
Minister Sackey praised Haja Namasa Conteh’s accomplishment, noting that her success at International School Limited in Freetown reflects the dedication of teachers, parents, and the resilience of the educational sector.
