Sierra Leone Coach Selected for 2025 African Mini-Basketball Convention in Benin
The Sierra Leone Amateur Basketball Association (SLABA) has officially announced that Reshard Nathalie Dionne has been selected to represent Sierra Leone at the African Mini-Basketball Convention, scheduled to take place from April 24 to 27, 2025, in Porto Novo, Benin.
The event, organized by FIBA Africa in collaboration with the FIBA Foundation and the Benin Basketball Federation, will host 70 coaches from 15 African countries and bring together 400 children from across Benin. The convention aims to promote youth basketball development, strengthen coaching networks, and encourage cultural exchange throughout the continent.

Reshard’s selection highlights their ongoing commitment to grassroots basketball development in Sierra Leone. SLABA noted that all travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by FIBA.
“We are proud to see Reshard recognized at such a high level,” a SLABA spokesperson stated. “This is a major achievement for both the individual and the country’s basketball community.”
The African Mini-Basketball Convention is part of FIBA’s broader strategy to invest in the next generation of players and coaches across Africa.
