SLP, RSLAF Reaffirm Commitment to National Security at Joint Workshop in Bo

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) have reaffirmed their commitment to national security through renewed collaboration, following a one-day joint workshop held Wednesday at the Wizard Complex in Bo.
The workshop, attended by senior security officials, forms part of a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening inter-agency cooperation among security institutions. Key focus areas included enhancing joint operations, streamlining information sharing, and implementing community-based security strategies to maintain peace and stability across the country.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sahr Yomba Senesi—representing Inspector General William Fayia Sellu—stressed the longstanding cooperation between the police and military, recalling their joint efforts during the civil war and in post-conflict peace building operations.
He emphasized that current leadership under IGP Sellu and Chief of Defence Staff Major General Amara Idara Bangura is broadening collaboration to include the Sierra Leone Correctional Services and the Sierra Leone Fire Force.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier General SDT Ngaujah, Chief of General Staff, reiterated RSLAF’s dedication to national development and security. He announced plans to roll out similar workshops in other regions to strengthen coordination among security agencies nationwide.
The workshop marks a key milestone in efforts to foster inter-agency synergy, signalling a unified front in addressing national security challenges.
